Legislative Advocacy
Consumers United Association advocates for our members and provides education on issues that concern their financial lives and consumer interests. Throughout the years, we have worked on issues such as (but not limited to):
• Predatory Lending
• Identity Theft
• Auto Insurance
• Payday Lending
• Credit Reports and Scoring
• Debt Settlement
• College Costs and Student Loans
• Affordable Housing
• Retirement Savings
• Financial Fraud
• Financial Education
• Poverty Reduction
• Automobile Titles (used vehicles that were previously in floods, etc)

Because CUA’s home is in Colorado and the majority of our members are in Colorado, we actively lobby in support or opposition of legislation at the state capitol. In Arizona, where our membership is beginning to grow, we are now gathering information on legislation to provide to our members, but we are not lobbying there.

CUA is also planning to provide more in-depth educational materials for our members in the coming months.

We also work with national organizations such as Consumer Federation of America, to address issues that have a national impact.
